Break Command

The Break command breaks a track or shape into two parts, leaving a gap at the point of the break.

To break a track or shape on the map, do the following:

  1. View a map.
  2. Select a track or shape.
  3. Click to set the marker at the point along the track or shape where the break will occur.
  4. Then, do one of the following:
    • On the Tools menu, click Break.
    • Right-click on the selected item, and click Break.

To break a track or shape in the Elevation Profile, do the following:

  1. View an Elevation Profile of a track or shape.
  2. Click on the profile to set the marker at the point along the track or shape where the break will occur.
  3. Then, do one of the following:
    • On the Tools menu, click Break.
    • Right-click on the selected item, and click Break.

To break a track at a specific point in the Trackpoint List, do the following:

  1. View the track's Trackpoint List.
  2. Select the trackpoint where the break will occur.
  3. Then, do one of the following:
    • On the Tools menu, click Break.
    • Right-click on the selected trackpoint, and click Break Track.

To break a shape at a specific point in the shape's Point List, do the following:

  1. View the shape's Shape Point List.
  2. Select the point where the break will occur.
  3. Then, do one of the following:
    • On the Tools menu, click Break.
    • Right-click on the selected point, and click Break Shape.
