Receive from GPS Command

The Receive from GPS command allows you to copy all of the waypoints, routes, and/or tracks from your GPS receiver to GeoBuddy.

To receive data from your GPS, do one of the following:

  • On the GPS menu, click Receive from GPS.
  • Click the Receive from GPS buttonReceive from GPS button on the main toolbar.
  • In a Map View, right-click on a blank spot on the map. On the Map shortcut menu, click Receive from GPS.

The Receive from GPS dialog will appear. Check the box next to the kinds of GPS data you want to receive from your GPS, and click OK.

Progress dialog

The Progress dialog will appear and show the time remaining for the GPS transfer.

After the GPS transfer is complete, your GPS data has been added to the file. If you are in a Map View, you may need to zoom out or use the Zoom to Show All Data command to view the new GPS data.

If an Error Occurs:

  1. Read GPS Transfer Errors.
  2. Turn the GPS off and back on again to reset the GPS interface before attempting any further GPS actions.
