Split Command

The Split command splits a track or shape into two parts.

To split a track or shape on the map, do the following:

  1. View a map.
  2. Select a track or shape.
  3. Click to set the marker at the point along the track or shape where the split will occur.
  4. Then, do one of the following:
    • On the Tools menu, click Split.
    • Right-click on the selected item, and click Split.

To split a track or shape in the Elevation Profile, do the following:

  1. View an Elevation Profile of a track or shape.
  2. Click on the profile to set the marker at the point along the track or shape where the split will occur.
  3. Then, do one of the following:
    • On the Tools menu, click Split.
    • Right-click on the selected item, and click Split.
    • Click the Split buttonSplit button on the Elevation Profile window.

To split a track at a specific point in the Trackpoint List, do the following:

  1. View the track's Trackpoint List.
  2. Select the trackpoint where the split will occur.
  3. Then, do one of the following:
    • On the Tools menu, click Split.
    • Right-click on the selected trackpoint, and click Split Track.

To split a shape at a specific point in the shape's Point List, do the following:

  1. View the shape's Shape Point List.
  2. Select the point where the split will occur.
  3. Then, do one of the following:
    • On the Tools menu, click Split.
    • Right-click on the selected point, and click Split Shape.
