Note Tool

The Note Tool creates a new note at the location where you click on the map.

To select the Note Tool, do the following:

  1. View a map
  2. Then, do one of the following:
    • On the Map menu, point to Select Map Tool, and click Note Tool.
    • Press N.
    • Click the Note ToolNote Tool button on the Map toolbar.
  3. The cursor will change to Note Tool

Creating a new note

To create a new note, do the following:

  1. Click on the map.
  2. The Edit Note Dialog will appear. Label your new note, and click OK.

To create a new note, do the following:

  1. Hold down the Shift key.
  2. Click on the map.

The note will have the same type as the last note you created.

Showing the Shortcut Menu

To show the Shortcut Menu, right-click on the map.

If an item is selected on the map, the Shortcut Menu for that item will be shown. If nothing is selected, the Map Shortcut Menu will be shown.
