Waypoint Tool

The Waypoint Tool creates a new waypoint at the location where you click on the map.

To select the Waypoint Tool, do the following:

  1. View a map
  2. Then, do one of the following:
    • On the Map menu, point to Select Map Tool, and click Waypoint Tool.
    • Press W.
    • Click the Waypoint ToolWaypoint Tool button on the Map toolbar.
  3. The cursor will change to Waypoint Tool

Creating a new waypoint

To create a new waypoint, do the following:

  1. Click on the map.
  2. The Edit Waypoint Dialog will appear. Label your new waypoint, and click OK.

To create a new waypoint, do the following:

  1. Hold down the Shift key.
  2. Click on the map.

The waypoint will have the same type as the last waypoint you created.

Showing the Shortcut Menu

To show the Shortcut Menu, right-click on the map.

If an item is selected on the map, the Shortcut Menu for that item will be shown. If nothing is selected, the Map Shortcut Menu will be shown.
